FIELD EMISSIONS

WHY IT MATTERS !!!


Nitrous oxide is a strong greenhouse gas   over 270 times more harmful than CO.

 

When a farmer uses 100 kg of NPK fertilizer per hectare (with 20% nitrogen), about 0.3 kg of nitrous oxide (N₂O) is released.

That’s equal to around 86 kg of CO₂ emissions per hectare.

Global Field Emissions

Ammonia synthesis (used to make nitrogen fertilizer) is extremely energy-intensive, relying on natural gas (via the Haber-Bosch process).

This process alone accounts for around 1.3% to 2% of global CO₂ emissions.

 

After production, nitrogen fertilizers also cause significant nitrous oxide (N₂O) emissions when applied to fields   a greenhouse gas about 273 times more potent than CO₂ over a 100-year period

Ikue AgroTech require mining and processing, but have a much smaller

carbon footprint and do not result in major post-application
